Is it painful?
Not at all — most users describe the sensation as a light warmth or a gentle snap. Thanks to Barely Beam’s Sapphire Icing Technology, the device actively cools your skin during use, making treatments 99% less painful than waxing or salon lasers.
Is it safe to use?
Yes! Barely Beam features automatic skin tone detection and built-in safety sensors to ensure optimal flash strength and skin compatibility. It’s EU compliant, and safe for use at home when following guidelines.
When will I start seeing results?
You’ll notice softer regrowth and patchier hair as early as week 2. Most users report visible reduction in hair by week 4 and smoother skin with consistent use across 4–8 weeks.
Where can I use Beam?
Barely Beam is safe for use on legs, underarms, arms, bikini line, stomach, and face (below the cheekbones). Avoid sensitive areas like around the eyes or genitals.

How do I clean my Beam?
After each use, switch off the device and unplug it. Use a soft, dry cloth or alcohol wipe to gently clean the treatment window. Do not rinse under water.
Do I have to shave between sessions?
Yes — shaving is recommended before each IPL session. This allows the light to reach the root of the hair more effectively. Do not wax, epilate, or pluck, as these methods remove the hair follicle IPL targets.
Sapphire Icing Technology Explained
This is our cooling feature built directly into the flash window. The sapphire surface cools your skin on contact, helping reduce redness, irritation, and discomfort — without weakening the IPL light intensity.
Do I have to wear eye protection?
We recommend using the protective glasses included in your kit — especially when treating areas close to your eyes like upper lip or jawline. Never look directly at the flash.
Can I use it on tattoos or sunburns?
No. Avoid using Barely Beam on tattoos, sunburned skin, open wounds, or recently tanned areas. IPL is not safe for damaged or heavily pigmented skin.
Can I use Beam while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Out of caution, wedo not recommendusing Barely Beam while pregnant or breastfeeding, as there is limited research on IPL’s effects during these times.
